Have you ever noticed how much juice builds up in the tupperware that you store your leftover watermelon in? I never really payed any attention to it up until this summer now that I am trying to waste less of the food I purchase (5 Reasons I Love Hungry Harvest).
One day over the summer, I was just about to throw a seemingly empty bag of watermelon away when all of the sudden it donned on me that all of the left over juices would have a much better life in my belly than down the garbage disposal. I grabbed a mason jar and filled it with ice, then filled it half way with the juice and the rest of the way with water. I also had some basil on hand, so I tore that into bits and mixed it in the drink. Can I just tell you, it was SO tasty and refreshing!
It looks super fancy, but it’s not. So hey, if you ever have some left over watermelon and want to impress your friends – this could be the drink for you!
Ingredients (1 serving):
- 1/2 cup watermelon juice
- 1/2 cup water
- Fresh basil
- Ok this is really difficult guys, so pay attention. Fill a glass with ice, then add the juice, water, basil and stir. All done!
Happy Sipping : )
